Parisian Cameo
Some treasures feel like they hold centuries within them—whispers of artistry, history, and soul. These antique agate cameos are just that: heirlooms of the past, reimagined for today.
Each cameo is hand-carved from layered agate, a centuries-old technique where artisans gently etch away stone to reveal ethereal scenes in white, set against a warm fawn-brown background. I unearthed these particular sister cameos, dating back to the 1800s, in the heart of Paris’s flea markets—serendipitously discovered in the private trove of iconic 1980s jewelry designer Sylvie Corbelin.
As Sylvie and I opened her vault together, it felt like time bent for just a moment. She had hand-painted the back of one cameo, leaving her own mark on its story. I then adorned the front with diamond accents—turning these storied pieces into a luminous, one-of-a-kind necklace: a legacy of three artists across two centuries.
This is more than jewelry. It’s a symphony of eras, a love letter to craftsmanship, and a modern heirloom born of magic, memory, and meaning.
