Citrine, Diamond and Beetle Wing Earrings

These earrings were such a fascinating and inspirational project to work on. In the beautiful words of my customer: “Why is this the holy grail of scarab earrings for me? The wings are real beetle wings and the incorporate a pair of pear shape 8 carat citrines! @ashleymorgandesigns really pushed me on using real beetle wings to finish the piece and I am so glad she did. Her brilliant vision to add real beetle wings make this piece unlike anything I have ever seen. It started as a sketch. The vision was a beetle holding the sun.
Together, on a piece of paper Ashley and I jointly drew these earrings, finishing each others lines. They are a dream come true and something I’ve always wanted yet who knew those huge citrines I bought 20 years ago would transform so ethereally into this! The finishing touch on the back, in my handwriting, is the Zoroastrian (ancient Persian religion) motto of the faith: Good Thoughts, Good Words, Good Deeds. My father said these three phrases to me daily with the emphasis that if you master these, you have mastered life.”
